Phantom 3 Repair Services

As with any other DJI drone, the camera gimbal is the most expensive part of the drone, and is usually the first one that goes out on a crash. This is the sad part. When fixing Phantom 3 cameras, the only thing that is non-fixable and replaceable is the main motherboard of the camera. If this damaged, it needs a brand new camera because DJI doesn't sell it by itself - it only comes with a brand new camera. And by damaged, it doesn't have to be physically cracked or punctured. Motherboards get damaged internally from impact of a crash.

Another common issue with crashed Phantom 3s are the shells or the body. There are 2 kinds of shells, the upper shell and the lower shell. These plastics when bent from an impact cannot be bent back to it's proper form. Thus we would have to replace this shell ($60 for the top and bottom shell + $70 labor).

Repair cost is $79 labor + cost of parts

Promo EXCLUDES labor for camera repair, shell replacement.

Pay only AFTER the repair is done.

You can back-out from an expensive repair and we will return it at NO CHARGE for unfixed drones.

Scenario 1

Does it still fly? Yes.

Does the camera still give you video? Yes.

How does the camera behave when turned on? It moves, but keeps moving around

Cost of Repair (Including parts and labor)

Phantom 3 STANDARD = $80 - $140 (NOTE: Brand New Camera = $249)

Phantom 3 4K = $120 - $180 (NOTE: Brand New Camera = $299)

Phantom 3 Advanced = $120 - $180 (NOTE: Brand New Camera = $299)

Phantom 3 Professional = $150 - $200 (NOTE: Brand New Camera = $350)

Luckily, DJI sells parts of the Phantom 3 gimbal. And since you have video from camera, this means that the circuit board is ok, thus you don't need a brand new camera.

Scenario 2

Does it still fly? Yes.

Does the camera still give you video? No.

How does the camera behave when turned on? It doesn't move at all.

Cost of Repair (Including parts and labor)

Low Estimate: $80 (For all Phantom 3 Types)

High Estimate:

Phantom 3 STANDARD Brand New Camera = $249

Phantom 3 4K Brand New Camera = $299

Phantom 3 Advanced Brand New Camera = $299

Phantom 3 Professional Brand New Camera = $350

Hopefully it is only the ribbon that's torn - and that is why you don't get gimbal movement, and you don't get video. When we replace the ribbon cable and there is still no video, this means your camera motherboard is dead and needs a brand new camera.

Scenario 3

Does it still fly? It can't. Motors will turn, but the props will hit the body.

Cost of Repair

All you need is shell replacement of $60 + $70 labor = $130 total.

Scenario 4

Does it still fly? No. It says ESC Error.

Cost of Repair

Low Estimate:

$150 (Including parts and labor)

High Estimate:

Phantom 3 STANDARD = $129 + $70 labor = $199 total

Phantom 3 4K = $129 + $70 labor = $199 total

Phantom 3 Advanced/Professional = $149 + $70 labor = $219

An ESC Error can only mean two things - 1. One or more motors are damaged, 2. The main aircraft motherboard is damaged. This is a very tricky repair since the cost would vary upon how many motors got damaged and whether the motherboard is fixable or not. We would have to get our hands on the drone before we will be able to get an accurate estimate, but we will call you before we fix the drone if we go over the pre-approved budget.

Common Replacement Parts
